6 March, 2010 Unguided Walks Launch

 

Opening for unguided walks, Launch day - March 6th

The upper part of the Ecosanctuary, which includes 3 walking tracks, will be open for unguided walks from March 6th.

There will be lots of activities for the young and not so young and live music playing throughout the day. Photos taken during the day can be entered in a competition for adults and children. The café will be open. Come along and join the fun!

Adults activities:

11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm - Tips for Bird Spotting with our knowledgeable lead guide, Sue Hensley (10-15minutes).

12 noon – “Kiwi the People’s Bird” Talk by Neville Peat (45mins)

 

Children’s activities with our enchanting educator, Tahu Mackenzie.
11am Treasure Hunt

12noon Pest Parade

1pm Brave and Brilliant Birds

2pm Pond Life

3pm Plant Paradise

 

All are welcome into the Visitor Centre free of charge. The cost for unguided walking in the Ecosanctuary, after March 6th, will be $7.50 for members and $15 for non-members.
Entry for members will be free of charge.
