Volunteers are provided with direction, a safe walking environment and any equipment and materials
needed including chocolates! Volunteers gain the satisfaction of contributing to a project that provides a legacy to future generations (not just of the human species), gaining new skills and meeting like-minded people.
Orokonui Ecosanctuary has 180 volunteers on the register and, in total, they spend an average of 900 hours per month. Some help on a one off basis. Others help regularly. Some help as groups, some help as 'individuals' some are pro-bono professionals, others provide manual help.
At the moment we need new volunteers for:
• Planting and weeding
• Pest and fence monitoring
• Track building and maintenance
• Regular care of habitat areas
