Making a Bequest

A gift in your will to Orokonui Ecosanctuary goes towards the protection of New Zealand’s endangered plants and animals for future generations to enjoy.


Orokonui is a long-term restoration project requiring ongoing maintenance and development.
Bequests and donations make a vital contribution to these costs. Please consult your solicitor
to include the Otago Natural History Trust’s Orokonui Ecosanctuary project in your will.

Bequests can be acknowledged by engraved plaques on the fence that protects the Ecosanctuary.

What do I need to do in order to make a Bequest?
If you have a Will, all you need to do is make an amendment called a codicil. This can be as simple as downloading and completing the form (below), having two people witness your signature and sending it to your solicitor. It should not cost you anything to add a codicil.
